Zero Zero Restaurant Review

Zero Zero is another favorite go-to restaurant in San Francisco with wonderful pizza, great brunch menu, and delicious drinks. Zero Zero is located near the Metreon in downtown and there are a few parking garages near there that aren't too expensive. Like so many other San Francisco restaurants, the have mostly staple menu items, and then a few others are swapped out based on the season. Some of these aren't on the menu all the time, and they do swap out one or two of the pizzas. Let's get to the food!

Roasted Cauliflower - If roasted cauliflower isn't one of your favorite winter vegetable dishes then I just don't know what you're doing with your life!

Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Pear and Lemon - This was wonderful, crispy brussels sprouts are another great winter vegetable dish, and I would say the majority of San Francisco restaurants have something similar on their menu during the winter.

Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing and Bacon - Zero Zero has some great salads you can share before pizza!

Avocado Bruschetta - I'm pretty sure they have this on the menu almost all year long, and I would highly recommend trying it. It's just the butteriest avocado flayed over a crispy piece of toast, topped with spicy salami and a drizzle of balsamic, so good.

Slow Cooked Pork Belly, with Roman Style Dumplings, Broccoli and Poached Egg - This dish was recommended to me by a friend, and it's very strange sounding and looking, but when you taste all the components together it all makes sense!

Open Faced BLT with Egg - This was so messy to eat but it was very good. I didn't care too much for the fries it came with, they weren't crispy enough for my tastes.

Arancini with Black Garlic Aioli - This is a must have dish at Zero Zero, there are two places I have to get arancini at, here and Pizzeria Delfina. The black garlic aioli changes this dish up enough, making you want to always have arancini with this sauce.

Potato and Pancetta Pizza - This was one of the special pizzas of the night, and they rotate these every so often, definitely my least favorite pizza I had at Zero Zero, but still so good.

Margherita Pizza - Not as good as Pizzeria Delfina, in my opinion, but still very good.

Castro Pizza - House made sausage, this one is delicious if you're craving a meat pizza.

White Pizza with Artichoke Hearts and Ham? - I forget exactly what this one was because it was a special, but it was amazing! One of my all time favorite pizzas, I had leftovers that I just didn't want to eat because I didn't want it to be over!

Brunch Pizza - These vary, but they have one anytime you go to brunch there. Definitely worth getting. They cut open the egg when they bring it to your table and spread it over the whole thing.

Amatriciana - Pancetta and spicy tomato sauce, Zero Zero has some wonderful pasta, one of our favorite dishes there.

Drinks - They have some creative drinks that are very good. I don't order them much because I'd rather spend my money on the food than overpriced drinks, but every once in a while they're a nice treat.

Ricotta Doughnuts - They have a little check-off dessert menu where you can pick and choose which things you want. We got the doughnuts and chocolate fudge. Pretty good, not as good as Piccino though.

Plated Dessert - In addition to the pick and choose menu, they also have rotating plated desserts, whatever this one was I forget, lemon and raspberry maybe? but I didn't care for it. Too tart.

You should definitely try Zero Zero, dinner or brunch, either are worth the trip!
